Airbus, Bombardier celebrate; Alabama plant could be on fast track
While July 4 fireworks flared south of the border, Airbus and Bombardier leaders gathered in Mirabel, Canada, Wednesday to celebrate the newly sealed partnership that they say will bring a new aircraft assembly line to Alabama. News reports from the event included a hint that development of the new assembly line in Mobile will be rapid.
Alabama 2nd among states affected by tariffs
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce says Alabama would be the second hardest hit state from tariffs, according to an analysis the trade group released this week. The lobbying organization, which represents about 3 million businesses, released an interactive graphic which shows the state-by-state impact of tariffs the Trump Administration has already levied or is considering.
2 Alabama cities are among the top losing population
Two Alabama cities are among the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas that have had the largest net decline in populations since 2010. USA Today is reporting that a 24/7 Wall Street review of population figures from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Program determined the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, Illinois-Indiana-Wisconsin metro area experienced the largest decline.

A restaurant that debuted earlier this year from the founders of Urban Cookhouse will be opening another location in Tuscaloosa later his year. Farm Bow + Juice Co. will be located at 1470 Northbank Parkway. A location opened earlier this year in Homewood.

The Howell Group/Keller Williams is working with Homes for Heroes, Inc. The program works to give all military servicemen – whether active, reserves or a veteran – firefighters, law enforcement, healthcare workers, EMS and teachers the opportunity to receive savings when purchasing or selling a home. USA stadium: County Commission waiting on city action
Last week, 200-plus USA supporters turned out to show the Mobile County Commission the excitement behind a proposed on-campus stadium. This week, neither the supporters nor the excitement was in the room. No proposal for county funding of the stadium was considered at the discussion meeting, a preview of the matters on which commissioners will vote at their next regular session on Monday.
Alabama company building $174 million federal project
Montgomery’s Caddell Construction is beginning work on a massive $174 million building project in New Mexico. Groundbreaking was held Monday at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque for the three-story headquarters of the National Nuclear Security Administration, the company said.
